If we could use the CMS on our own Servers (install Webflow on our own Databases) like we can do so with Wordpress, Webflow could become the number one CMS! I think the force to use the Webflow hosting for CMS holds a lot of people back. Also, we could host our CMS site on a server in our own country which is better for Google and privacy.
You can host your Website finally either Static or CMS in your own datacenter with Stacket: https://stacket.app/
I am looking into this as well - we're about to migrate our website from Wordpress.org (hosted via WP Engine) to Webflow, however some of the limitations with their CMS is causing delays and setbacks.
Is there a workaround or other solutions for a website that requires its own database for the CMS?
This is my only show-stopper actually. Many of my customers want to chose their hosting provider, some of them for the country the hoster is located, some of them for specific security reasons.
So, I have to tell them, that webflow does not provide this opportunity. To be honest, in the first place, they can‘t believe it and think I just want them to take the webflow hosting. I don‘t have to tell that this is pretty unconvenient for me.
I also recognized that people do not take webflow seriously as they are not able to chose a separate hosting plan of their own wish. It‘s like ‚webflow is great for prototyping, but for real websites...?‘
Ergo it would be great if there was another plan which enables self hosted webflow cms sites.
yes.
