Client billing for South Africa

Hi Webflow team and community!

Currently there is no option to setup billing for South African businesses and there is no option to setup client billing for South African clients.

The only alternatives we have is the following:

  • Setup our billing & client billing through USA
  • Create website in webflow and convert to Wordpress with udesly
  • Pay out of pocket and manually send a client an invoice each month to pay for hosting.

If I go the USA route, my first problem is that Stripe does not support South Africa yet. That means I will need to go through Stripe Atlas which will help me to form a business and create a bank account in the USA. Second problem, the setup fee to do this costs $500 and there additional costs. The third problem, if I go this route then I will have to charge my clients in dollars instead of rands which is a big no-no for most clients.

My second option is to create the website in webflow and convert it to wordpress. I think this might be the best option however there are additional costs and parties involved. I would prefer to do everything under one roof.

The third option is to pay out of pocket and send the client an invoice each month but this process is not ideal and leaves a lot of room for risk on my side.

I understand that you cannot add South Africa to billing until Stripe supports South Africa but is there no alternative? Paypal supports South Africa. Is there any possibility that webflow can integrate with Paypal or one of the South African payment gateways below?

  • PayU
  • Paygate
  • PayFast
  • Peach Payments

It would be great if you could integrate with a payment gateway that would allow South African businesses to charge clients in Rands.

I really Love webflow this is the best website builder out there but that one flaw costed me a client and now i have to pay the costs myself :(

Webflow really has the potential to please everyone and I really dont know what they have't added this yet.

I'm a South African living in the UK and have been building websites in the UK and love Webflow. I have an e-commerce vape and tobacco brand in South Africa that is doing well but needs a major facelift. My first option would be Webflow but there is no working payment gateway option that I can link the site to. Therefore I'm going to have to revert to the clunky but still workable WordPress option. I'm not the only South African who loves Webflow but cannot even contemplate going down this route because of the lack of payment options available. PLEASE 'PULL FINGER' AND PARTNER WITH ANY OF THE ABOVE PAYMENT GATEWAYS! Thanks.

We need a more convenient method, just waiting patiently.

Hi, would a webflow template work if I used it with a South African domain name? (co.za)

This is a serious reg flag for me. Not only are the upfront setup fees for Stripe Atlas just ludicrous for the develeping market but to make it worse there are additional annual fees and taxes that make this a completely unviable option for us in South Africa. Please integrate Paypal asap!

I don't understand why Stripe was chosen exclusively, leaving out the developing world, where we really need these solutions.

Please make available for SA. This is the only reason i'm more drawn to SquareSpace! This is desperately needed - all my marketing colleaugues and I often mention this.

    Same for Nigeria.

A legit payment gateway like Paystack will work just fine.
