Instead of having to go to the Site Settings to find the custom code field, allow us to one-click access it directly from Designer. This will save users time.

the user can double click on the custom code element in the designer to get at the code editor. I feel like the user shuold be able to double click on the custom code element in the navigator also. and maybe also a button on the styles panel to access the code.
