At present, new items can be scheduled for publishing - but existing published items cannot be scheduled.
If a current published item requires a content update, and that update is not permitted to go live until a certain date/time - then this update must be done manually at that date/time, which is not always possible.
Having the ability to schedule publishing for previously published items would greatly improve workflow and save time.
Agreed - I import a list of CMS items ahead of time, which are automatically set to "Staged for publish". I then need to set them to "Draft" and then work through them one by one scheduling them. If I (or another team member) publishes another page before I've scheduled them they all switch to "Published" and I can't switch them back to draft and then go on with scheduling because of this issue.
I came here to look for a wishlist topic for scheduling changes to pages and this was the closest I could find. I then went to post a new idea (for scheduling changes to static pages) but as I began typing it became apparent how complex it was. Particularly with regard to changes to the style and structure of the page. What happens when you schedule content changes and then make changes to the style or structure of a component during these two dates (of scheduling and scheduled)?
I have a client who's marketing manager needs to make some changes to a page and have them published whilst they are on vacation/
As a workaround, I have advised my client to duplicate the page and save it as a draft, make changes to the duplicated page and, on the date they want to the new page to go live, we copy the page-wrapper div (and everything inside it) to the current page and remove the old page-wrapper and publish the site on their behalf.
yes this should be added. schedule an item that is already live.
I 100% second this feature!
How is this still even a thing! Wow, so crucial in my mind agreed.
