It is often difficult to open collapsed items in the document tree. Double-clicking such items should open them as it does in so many other programs. Double-click opening is a standard common to Windows, Mac and Linux. As it is, having to click perfectly on the > is fiddly and slow. It is often difficult, particularly on touchpads. For many it is an expected behavior.
