Add file attachment (PDF, PPT, etc) field type to the CMS

Now that Webflow implemented the first phase of static file uploads in the Asset Manager, we need to add the ability to upload the new types of non-image assets via the Webflow CMS.

It should be possible for clients to upload/change files/attachments via the Editor interface as well.

    Admin Response

We're currently scoping out this feature in preparation for development.

Equally important is to have a file upload button component in the form block that will allow website visitors to upload a file in a form submission.

    Use Cases:

    • Very useful when making career section on a corporate website where potential visitors can apply for a job opening by filling up a form and attach their CV.
    • For Education industry websites: Usually a form is required where applicants can fill up their details and attach their past education documents for a course registration.

You guys sort of dropped the ball on the asset manager upload (you can't upload audio or any other media)... Please allow audio file uploads for this.

Finally found the answer here, but not what I was hoping for. And by the way why .zip didn´t make it in the list? The most flexible format for all those not so mainstream file extentions.

Can't wait for this feature. Already have two ongoing webflow projects that needs file attachments. Agree with @Matti that .zip should be included in the list. One project we are working on will have a press kit download. Zip would be the most natural format for this use case.

Really need this for client using the CMS Editor only as there's no way for them to upload a document.

Any updates on this? I have multiple clients looking for this and may even loose one if this option doesn't become available soon.

Is there an ETA on this?

    Thanks.

Any update on this? Not only important for a field, but also being able to create a link to a file in a rich text field.

    Hey Webflow!

Multiple people looking for an update on this item... I have 3 clients right now that want to utilize this feature ASAP.

    An ETA would be great.

Agree with everyone, that this is important now that we are beginning to suggest clients to host their sites in Webflow.

    Pleeeease!

Yeah this is a definite. Having to try to instruct users to go to dropbox or email a team to upload documents, then link them, is a pain.

I agree super important feature! My clients wants the ability to download digital business cards (.vcf files) for each of their employees on the team page.

Also the .zip format should be included!

I think it is super important to have this feature! Today it is difficult for a customer to attach a pdf to a blog post in the editor or even completely impossible...

Definitely needed - I have a client who's desperate for this in the editor CMS.
