List CMS Bindings When Attempting to Delete a Collection/Item Merged

When trying to delete a collection or collection item that's still being used in a binding, it'd be great if the error that was shown would give some idea of where that binding is. Could you add a list of the current pages or element names, to make it easier to hunt down and delete those bindings?

Going on about 6 hours hunting for where these bindings are hidden. Debating if I should just restart from scratch.

If anyone has become a pro at this could you please take a look at my site and help me locate: https://preview.webflow.com/preview/enjoyable-edibles-com?utm_source=enjoyable-edibles-com&preview=4cf0e40785ce56ea6b0e460f8b107220

    Please & Thank you!

YES. PLEASE. I regularly can not find where my collection items are bound, and it always wastes so much time.

I get stuck over and over again on this issue.  I am about to just use an external blog instead of investing any more time into trying to figure this out.   Delete all bindings seems to be a very UI friendly option.

I deleted all other CMS Collections and all pages except the home page and collection page of which I deleted all code, styles and SEO settings I could. I still had the issue.

Possibly, it was due to copying a template project I created a year or two ago. Webflow has done updates to the CMS and designer etc since then and they may not have upgraded the project properly to be compatible with the new Webflow.

If Webflow users had tools to force a delete or refresh etc then this would be very helpful. Certainly, if Webflow users had deeper collection database admin tools then this could be very valuable and result in fewer support requests to Webflow.

I agree that better error reporting would help. Better still if we could create our own error reporting or view the low-level database attributes & tables would be really nice. Then if we had the database tools to do the surgery on the database, then that would be really really nice.

    Really, it would!

Please Webflow, make this possible. Stop making me hunt phantom bindings for hours.

    Yes,

    This is painful.

I'm using this product to avoid time expense..

this is a very time consuming process.

This is an absolute must! I cannot begin to explain how frustrating the hunt for bindings are. The very least is a "force delete" function.

I'd really like to see a "Forcibly Unbind" feature as well.

The list of places we currently have to hunt for references is pretty massive and can take hours.  I still have a few I've never been able to find.  But if we don't, then customers are confused as to which Collections they should be editing, and which to ignore.

These are the places I know to look

    • On-page Collection Lists
    • "Non-obvious" Collection Lists, such as in drop-down navigation
    • In Collection List filtering and sorting settings
    • HTML Embed field references
    • Page META data field references
    • In symbols (have to check every single one)
    • Other Collections, with references to this Collection (if there are cross-references, you have to delete that cross-referencing field first)

A must. It takes ages to look for all the collection items in bindings.
